About me

Carly Hunt, PhD

My Approach

Performance, health and well-being aren’t opposites — they’re teammates. My work helps people excel in all these areas. I’m authentic and genuine and collaborate with you to reach your potential.

I’ve always been fascinated by what drives elite performance and human flourishing. As a former Division I golfer, I learned early on that success isn’t just physical — it’s mental. How we think and feel under pressure, as well as our overall well-being, shapes how we perform when it counts most.

That insight sparked my lifelong interest in psychology, health, and human performance. I’m a Sport & Health Psychologist, Author, and Advisor who helps athletes, leaders, and teams perform at a high level — and feel fulfilled doing it.

My approach blends sport, health, and positive psychology to help people build focus, confidence, resilience, and purpose. Whether you’re chasing a championship or leading teams through change, the mental game is the same: stay present, trust your preparation, and commit to what matters.

I earned degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Maryland, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, where I specialized in health psychology and behavioral medicine. I also wrote Train Your Brain to Beat Chronic Pain, exploring how mindset can drive healing and well-being.

Beyond sport, I advise a management consulting firm, helping leaders and teams strengthen their culture, mindset, and performance under pressure. A special passion of mine remains golf psychology coaching — helping juniors through tour players master the inner game of golf.

At the end of the day, performance and well-being aren’t opposites — they’re teammates. My mission is to help people thrive in both.
